Defeat of Iran?

We’ve been told by President Trump and Secretary Hegseth that the “war” in Iran has been won by the United States.  Iran’s leadership is gone.  Iran’s Navy is gone.  Iran’s Air Force is gone.  We’ve been shown pictures of mobile missile launchers being blown to pieces.  We’ve seen military headquarters reduced to rubble.  We’ve been reassured that the United States is the most powerful nation on earth.  And the people of Iran have been urged to throw off their leaders.

Let’s look at some facts.  Their fast boats have closed the Strait of Hormuz.  If Iran has fast boats,  they still have a Navy.  Tankers have been threatened with missiles.  If Iran has missiles, we have not destroyed all their mobile launchers.

And Iran’s army?  There are two Iranian “armies”.  The Artesh is the regular army.  The Artesh is loyal to the state and has about 350,00 serving members.  The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps(IRGC) is loyal to the Supreme Leader.  It has about 190,000 serving members with an additional hundreds of thousands of “volunteers”.  When Hitler came to power in 1933 the SS had 52,000 members.  By the end of 1933 there were 200,000 SS members.  The IRGC is a state within a state and has a relationship to the state much like Hitler’s SS of WWII.  They are more fanatical than the SS.  The IRGC gets the best equipment like the SS.  The IRGC is politically superior to the regular army(Artesh) like Hitler’s SS.  The Artesh gets handed down equipment, training and budget.

Another comparison.  Iran has about 626,451 square miles of territory (1,622,500 square kilometers).  Germany has 134,916 square miles of territory(349,400 square kilometers). Iran’s population is around 93 million; Germany 83 million.  Germany’s population during WWII was about 70 million. Currently, Iran’s total army is around 610,000, Germany 184,000.

The Iranian regime has killed an estimated 30,000 protesters.  Trump believes he has saved 6-8 women slated for execution for protesting as Iran has acceded to Trump’s request for mercy.  Really?  Or have these women been executed in private?

Have we supported an Iranian revolution?  If so, our support is a very well-kept secret.

Mountain Finch Post believes the Iranian regime is worse than the Nazis.  The Regime kills quickly.  The Iranians tell the world again and again they will destroy Israel. They will destroy the United States.  They tell the world repeatedly they will develop nuclear weapons. Every commentator says the Iranians cannot be trusted that they lie, they delay, they obfuscate and they continue to their goals.

Have we defeated Iran?  Unequivocally NO.  Iran is not some small country with a weak military.  The fanatical Iranians are willing to die for their beliefs.  Have we defeated Iran from the air?  Think about it.  We bombed Germany for three years, day and night.  The German people may have wanted to end the war, but the folks with the guns, the SS, the Waffen SS, the regular army, the Nazi fanatics and the bureaucracy fought on.  Only boots on the ground defeated Germany.  Do you think it is different with Iran?  Facts matter.

Obama.  5.  Obama essentially fueled the horror by returning billions in frozen assets to Iran.

Biden.  4.  You can’t hide in the closet and expect the Iranian situation to resolve itself.

Trump.  4.  Cudos for doing something, but no evidence for critical thinking.

Hegseth  2.  Hegseth knows better and went along as a parrot.  Not a strategic planner.
